About the Boonville Lumberjacks

Boonville Lumberjacks play in the Perfect Game Colleigate Baseball League (PGCBL).  The league is considered top 10 wooden bat summer league in the country.  Numerous players come from top national college programs to play, many are drafed into Major League Baseball.

PGCBL was founded in 2010 with the first season beginning 2011.  The regular season begins June 1st through July 29th.  Divisional playoffs and League Championship follows. Season games total 46.

Booonville Lumberjacks are owned and operated by Butch Russo who acquired the team in 2023, formally the Adirondack Trailblazers, and rebranded as the Boonville Lumberjacks.  Russo has over thirteen years of summer collegiate baseball experience.  He previously owned and operated the Utica Brewers of the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) where in 2011, the Brewers won the NABF National Championship (National Amateur Baseball Federation).

Over the seasons, numerous Brewer players were selected in the MLB daft, most notebly today is Cedric Mullins, starting center fielder for the Baltimore Orioles (2021 MLB All-Star, Silver Slugger Award), and Ryan Yarbrough, starting pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays.

Russo was one of the founding members of the PGCBL and later moved the Brewers into the league.  He sold the team in 2015 (now Utica Blue Sox).

He is one of the most passionate baseball owners within the PGCBL!
